Got to meet him while having 10th row seats @ his concert in ICT!!! Sooo exciting!!
Our 7 year old is always eager to ask at bedtime “what’s tomorrow?” As in what’s the schedule or special event for the day? Then of course she is the first to remember the next morning after everyone has awoke. Around here sister is known to sleep in the latest ( I am ok with this because she is not a napper and with her acute ambulatory hypertension it is very important she gets enough sleep daily) but the house is immediately full of energy and life when she rises for the day! “Ohhhh mommmm I don’t feel good” says my beauty as she walks into the living room holding her stomach with an ill look on her face to greet me. Here I sit rocking her 10 1/2 month old baby brother Hudson who happens to be sick with a fever and congestion. Who I happened to be up with all night. Which is why I happened to be tired enough to get tricked by a1st grader!!;) One great smile and chuckle from her brings a smile to my face and heart.
From that point on today is was a practical joke war between Marley and her only 18 months younger little brother Noah (our blonde hair, blue eyed, sweet but oh so trying 5 year old). They even went as far as texting daddy telling him his favorite band was at century two and he should buy tickets quick lol!!
I’m always wondering how supermoms get a perfect breakfast, lunch and dinner meal plan??…. that doesn’t get boring as fast as you put it on the table or cost a fortune or takes half of the day prepping! Breakfast around here is always simple and easy for mom is not a morning person. Dad isn’t necessarily chipper in the A.M. either but on the weekend you can always count on him being hungry enough to cook up something mouth watering on the stove. This morning the kids enjoyed whole wheat frozen waffles with unsalted butter and organic brown sugar along with an organic banana. During lunches lately I’ve tried to cook things that Hudson can eat as well since he totally prefers “real” food to pureed nutrition!! For the first time today we had ham and Swiss biscuits * http://m.allrecipes.com/recipe/220328/ham-n-swiss-biscuits. They were a hit! I wanted something quick to prepare and a family favorite at dinner. Betty Crocker Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie
The kids and I spent the partially beautiful/partially stormy weekend @ Kaw Lake in Oklahoma for a yearly family reunion on my mom’s side. We enjoyed the campfire, the beach, the boat and mostly our time with cousins and relatives. I also helped my mom clean and decorate my great-grandmother and great-grandfather Montgomery and my Spikey’s(my step-grandpa who I was very close to) graves. While out at the cemetery I took along some fresh flowers to drop off for someone I miss very much. She is my best friend Emily’s mom who I call “my other mom” passed away last Fall way too early from a long battle with cancer.i
